Gimnazjum nr 9 z Oddzialami Dwujezycznymi w Rzeszowie is a lower secondary school catering for young people aged 13 - 16. Our facilities include two Information Technology laboratories and a library with broadband internet access, classrooms equipped with multimedia projectors and interactive whiteboards, a gymnasium, a fitness room, a covered tennis court and a tartan playground. There are also a canteen and a dentist's surgery.
Our teachers are fully qualified to teach the subjects. Employing modern strategies, methods and techniques they create solid opportunities for the pupils to receive comprehensive education within the demands of the national curriculum. We also value the importance of their physical development. Our students can choose from a wide selection of foreign language courses which include English, German, French and Spanish. They are also welcome to participate in numerous extracurricular activities and clubs.
Our school has been taking a very active part in many international educational programs whose major goals and objectives are:
- to promote European Education,
- to learn of systems of education abroad,
- to acquire new sources for learning,
- to enhance international student exchange,
- to enable the students exercise their foreign language skills.
For several years we have been maintaining student exchange with College de Clemenceau of Tulle (France), I.E.S. Virgen de las Nieves of La Palma (Spain), Zakladna Skola of Kosice (Slovakia), Zakladna Skola of Prague (Czech Republic) and 2nd Primary Korydallos School of Athens (Greece). Owing to this, the pupils have been able to improve their language skills, learn about the history of other countries and the diversity in their cultures and traditions.
One of our school's priorities has always been promoting physical fitness. During winter break our students are invited to a winter sports camp and in the summer to a hiking holiday or windsurfing training course.
The students issue a newsletter called PRYMUSIK (TOP OF THE CLASS). They arrange a number of cultural and sports events, such as Freshman Initiation Day, Saint Andrew's Eve Party, Sports Day etc. Every year they participate in CLEANING THE WORLD campaign and volunteer for many different charities. Attending drama workshops, they are introduced into the realm of the theatre. They are also given opportunities to meet noted writers, artists and musicians.
The school's interiors - with their unconventional decoration - bring a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and provide optimum learning environment.
